Job Description Summary
Wycliffe USA Global Health Services is dedicated to supporting and equipping Wycliffe staff to live in holistic health, enabling them to serve God with energy and vitality. We support Wycliffe staff through periodic health reviews and professional medical consultations and by ensuring a safe health environment at in-person gatherings. For staff in international roles, health reviews are available both in-person and virtually. Vaccinations and testing are offered at our offices in Orlando. We also provide health education, both individually and in groups, to foster a culture of vitality. Additionally, our medical team offers consultations to our global network of medical liaisons.
Job Description
At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a Registered Nurse, you play a vital role in helping Wycliffe accomplish its Bible translation mission as a member of the Global Health Services medical team alongside our physicians to meet the health needs of those working in the ministry of Bible translation and related ministries. As you provide critical administrative and clinical support to Global Health Services, you will play a pivotal role in helping Wycliffe staff maintain their health so that they can accomplish the mission in Bible translation.
You’ll partner with Global Health Services leadership and other team members to:
- Support staff both preparing for international roles and currently serving internationally.
- Support US-based staff for international short-term travel or stays.
- Support a safe health environment at the Orlando campus.
- Foster a culture of vitality.
Responsibilities
You’ll make an impact as you:
- Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
- Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
- Live out the conviction that “work flows through relationship” by passionately “loving God and loving people” through word and deed. Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards.
- Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class experience for Wycliffe USA future and existing staff. Assist with cross-functional team responsibilities, tactical teams/departmental initiatives.
- Participate in health education initiatives and in interdepartmental meetings and projects giving a medical/health perspective, as assigned.
- Maintain clinical and logistical processes for pre-field consultations, case management, and triage of worldwide clinical consultation requests under the direction of the Corporate Medical Director (CMD) and the Global Health Consultation Group (GHCG).
- Maintain and coordinate clinical communication amongst patient/family, staff and GHCG physicians and document within medical record.
- Work collectively with other members of the Global Health Services and Staff Vitality team in coordination of the patient’s care.
- Perform delegated independent nursing functions according to nursing standing orders and guidelines under the supervision of the Corporate Medical Director or other physician GHCG members. This may include obtaining medical histories and clinical decision making within the established parameters.
- Assist medical providers and GHCG in responding to medical emergency situations involving Wycliffe staff that may require a clinical medical response such as testing, reporting, contact tracing and quarantine.
- Maintain appropriate medical documentation within Global Health Services Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Work closely with the EHR technical experts (Tech Ops and Staff Vitality Operations Liaison) to provide clinical expertise in the maintenance and improvement of electronic medical forms.
- Aid in the operation and improvement of the Orlando campus emergency response team (training, team development, AED administration).
- Respect patient confidentiality and privacy and communicate with patients in a courteous manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Medical Director.
Other requirements: Possible domestic travel once a year for a medical missions conference or specific medical training. Willingness to embrace medical training specific to international medical mission work, including diseases and immunizations relevant to locations outside of North America.

- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Google Workspace software. Ability to learn new software including Electronic Health Record system. Ability to keep records up to date and handle large volume of patient clinical information.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree plus two years of experience in patient care in an acute care setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
- Experience or knowledge of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases relevant to locations outside of North America and/or previous multicultural experience helpful. Willingness to complete coursework if no prior experience or knowledge.
- Nonprofit ministry volunteer or work experience is also beneficial.

Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $70,000 – $81,846 annually. Actual pay rate may be higher based on various factors such as qualifications, skills and experience, required training, licensure and/or certifications, budget and allocation, if applicable. Additionally, the range for this position is based upon and considers Wycliffe’s non-profit ministry environment.
