Health education for Ethiopian & South Sudanese immigrants living in Minnesota, and abroad through primary and secondary preventive care.
We are a small group of committed, passionate Americans, Ethiopians, and South Sudanese who are developing a medical school in Gambella, Ethiopia as a means of transforming health outcomes in that region of the world by inviting Ethiopians and South Sudanese to become the solution to their health disparities through medical education. As committed Christians, we want to be as inclusive as possible in inviting people to participate with us in this transformative work. We see the need to include people of faith in our work, since their vision transcends what appears to be impossible. We see the refugee crisis in our world, and we know the disparity that exists in accessing higher education by refugees. We see the development of a medical school, and in time, a health education campus, as the means by which we may improve health outcomes, elevate access, create local solutions with providers who are committed to serving in this region and giving hope and a future to medical school applicants, including refugees. We need volunteer instructors from many different backgrounds in order to complete the medical school training and create a center of excellence. We believe that this vision of a medical school in Gambella is God-given. We have placed our full confidence in Him.
