Our teams often are made up of about a third medical providers (physicians, dentists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners), a third allied health professionals (nurses, pharmacists, optometrists, ophthalmology, physical therapists, occupational therapists), and about a third those with no particular medical skills, whom we call servants. Our non-medical servants may help out in the pharmacy, run a reading eyeglass clinic, assist in triage, or carry out a number of other tasks. We do emphasize the spiritual aspect of our service during twice daily praise and worship, devotions/ testimonies, and every evening to share our God sightings of the day. We learn and grow from each other. We often have medical, dental, nursing, and allied health students on our teams, and the opportunity to mentor and disciple in both health-related and spiritually-related areas is a high point of the experience for many trip participants.

You want to live a life of significance that is humbly aligned to God’s purposes. In order to do that, you need to understand God’s call for, or will in, your life. The problem is, it doesn’t seem clear, and everyone you meet has a different perspective on “calling”, which makes you feel confused and stuck. What you need are tools to help you discern God’s call.
